As a “one-stop shop,” mobile.de’s offering includes not only buying and selling, but also financing and leasing solutions. Founded in 1996, the company is a subsidiary of Adevinta, a global leader in online classified portals. Based in Berlin-Charlottenburg, we offer a dynamic environment where growth, learning, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.If you are driven by an eagerness to disrupt, have a passion for collaboration, and are excited about shaping the future of mobility, we would love to hear from you. What you’ll do & Who you are Our C2B business — "Direktverkauf" - gives consumers a fast and convenient way to sell their car directly to a nearby partner dealership. It is one of mobile.de's key strategic growth areas for which we are seeking a Senior Business Leader to own it end-to-end. You will build on a sizable and profitable business model, and will be tasked - from day one - to prepare, execute and optimise the upcoming significant acceleration phase. In this high-impact role, you will spearhead cross-functional collaboration across Product, Tech, Operations, Analytics, and Sales —defining strategy and turning it into execution. While reporting directly to the Director Transactions Businesses you will hold full commercial accountability for the C2B business - owning P&L steering, operations KPIs, as well as the underlying operating model required to further scale our business. This is a newly scoped role for the next growth phase with real commercial authority — the agenda is yours to shape.
What You Bring 10+ years of experience in a commercial role with direct ownership of business metrics — unit economics, funnel performance, revenue, or P&L — ideally in a high-growth environment and with high level of interest in the automotive industry You have operated at a level where your recommendations carried financial consequences — and you were accountable for the outcomes A proven track record of turning strategy into measurable execution: clear goals, operating plans, and KPI routines that actually land Strong analytical capability — you can navigate complex business dynamics, pressure-test forecasts, and make sound decisions under uncertainty Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Product, Tech, and Operations without formal authority Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders through crisp, data-backed narratives Business fluency in both German and English (required)
1. Business Ownership & Operational Leadership You hold full commercial accountability for the C2B business and translate growth ambitions into concrete operating plans with clear goals and defined accountability. Own P&L steering, financial & operations KPIs, margin logic, and end-to-end revenue performance Define, implement, and continuously improve the operating model required to scale the C2B business efficiently — across dealer services, consumer services, and core commercial operations Make informed trade-offs in ambiguous situations and ensure mitigation measures are in place before problems escalate 2. KPI Steering, Forecasting & Performance Management You define how success is measured — and ensure the business is steered against it rigorously. This is not a reporting function; it is about building the analytical backbone that enables fast, confident decision-making at every level in a complex and at times ambiguous environment. Define the north-star metrics and KPI framework for C2B across growth, revenue, efficiency, customer experience, and quality Drive forecasting accuracy in close partnership with FP&A and Analytics — and confidently challenge assumptions and models where needed Identify the underlying drivers of performance — funnel dynamics, conversion rates, pricing elasticity, dealer network health, operational bottlenecks, seasonality — and translate those insights into decisive actions Build a culture of accountability where teams focus on measurable outcomes, not just activity 3. Growth Strategy & Business Scaling You are responsible for identifying where and through which levers the C2B business should grow — and then making it happen. This requires sharp commercial instinct, strong prioritisation skills, and the ability to align a cross-functional organisation around a shared direction. Shape and drive the growth strategy for C2B — from opportunity identification and prioritisation to resource allocation across the highest-impact levers Ensure commercial priorities, operational capabilities, and cross-functional execution are tightly aligned to deliver against ambitious targets Monitor market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive dynamics in the German automotive ecosystem — and adapt strategy proactively Identify and develop external partnerships that strengthen the C2B value proposition, and lead their implementation in close coordination with relevant stakeholders 4. Cross-Functional Leadership & Business Guidance This role carries real business authority without a reporting line. You act as the commercial lead within a cross-functional team. Build a harmonious cross-functional C2B team that challenges each other, pushes frontiers, while establishing a trusted team environment Provide clear business direction and prioritisation to cross-functional teams, ensuring all initiatives are grounded in business impact and operational realities Align stakeholders across functions around shared goals, transparent trade-offs, and clear success metrics Communicate with senior leadership through crisp, data-backed narratives that drive decisions — not just inform them
