👋 About UsOtera is an agentic-native and purpose-built platform for global enterprises such as Allianz, Siemens, Bayer, and Zurich to build, deploy, and manage Autonomous AI Agents- turning manual, fragmented processes into autonomous operations at scale.Otera's agents handle end-to-end business processes: reasoning across complex documents, scaling consistent high-quality decisions based on intricate business rules, and operationalizing tribal knowledge that traditionally lived only in the heads of experienced staff. With €15 million raised in a Series A funding round co-led by Red River West, Alpha Intelligence Capital, and Hoxton Ventures, and the support of existing investors Lunar Ventures and Stride VC, we are accelerating our vision to become the go-to provider for AI-driven automation solutions across the globe.💼 About the RoleYou'll be the engineer our customers actually meet. Product Engineer/FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) embeds with enterprise customers to turn real-world business processes into production agentic workflows on the Otera platform. You'll sit next to customer teams, often working with them daily, listening to their requirements and implementing solutions that fit how they actually operate, all the way through to production deployment inside their own cloud tenant.🔥 Key ResponsibilitiesRun discovery with business and technical stakeholdersExercise judgment about speed vs. rigour: know when a rough POV is the right call and when to stop and get the implementation right before it touches a regulated production system- most engineers default to one extreme, this role requires reading which one a given moment calls forDesign, build, and ship agent workflows end-to-end: prompt and context engineering, tool integrations, document ingestion, evals, confidence thresholds, and human-in-the-loop escalation pathsDeploy and operate inside customer tenants on Azure, GCP, or AWS, navigating their networking, identity, security review, and change management processesRepresent Otera in front of customer architects, CISOs, risk and compliance functions; operate independently across customer, sales, and platform stakeholders whose priorities routinely conflict- resolve what you can, and know what's worth escalating rather than trying to broker every conflict yourselfSupport the sales team on technical qualification and proof-of-value engagements, and feed what you learn in the field back into the platform roadmap as concrete, prioritised asksTurn one-off customer solutions into reusable patterns, templates, and documentation so the next deployment is faster than the last😊 About You5+ years shipping production software, with at least 2 in a customer-facing engineering role (forward-deployed, solutions architecture with real code ownership, professional services engineering, or founding engineer selling what you built)Strong production experience with Python, the main language in which the platform is builtHands-on experience building with LLMs in productionProduction experience on at least one of Azure, GCP, or AWS, and comfort deploying into environments you don't control, subject to someone else's security and change policiesExperience shipping in a regulated environment (finance, insurance, healthcare, or similar), or a strong signal that you'd thrive thereBased in Europe, able to overlap comfortably with a European working day, and willing to travel to customer sites when the engagement calls for it (typically a few days per month, concentrated around kick-offs and go-lives)✅ Motivated for the Agentic Coding ageOtera is an agentic company building agentic software, and we expect our engineers to use AI coding agents as a core part of how they work, not as a novelty. In this role that cuts twice, you'll drive Claude Code in your own delivery workflow. Candidates who are skeptical of LLMs in engineering workflows are welcome to apply, but the bar for "I've tried it and here's what I learned" is much higher than "I haven't really used it."Nice to haveDomain knowledge in insurance, banking, or another regulated vertical: claims, underwriting, KYC, trade finance, procure-to-payExposure to OCR, document understanding, or computer vision pipelinesPrior forward-deployed or embedded-delivery experience at an enterprise-B2B company (Palantir-style FDE, big-four adjacent engineering, or in-house platform teams serving demanding internal customers)Experience presenting to or negotiating with security, risk, and compliance functionsA second European language relevant to our customer baseEnthusiasm for co-creating a modern Continuous Delivery environment grounded in trunk-based development, TDD, and pair/ensemble programmingEnough product/interface sensibility to judge whether a human-in-the-loop review screen or confidence-threshold UI actually works, in the absence of a dedicated designer on the deployment team⛳️ Why this role is interesting, Compensation & PerksYou see the whole value chain: from a business problem described over coffee to an autonomous workflow processing regulated transactions in productionYour work is the difference between a pilot that stalls and a reference customer that anchors the next funding roundYou'll build a playbook, not just deployments; the patterns you establish become how Otera scales deliveryThe engineering org is small enough that what you learn in the field directly shapes the platform roadmapFull-remote across Europe, with customer-facing travel that is deliberate and engagement-driven rather than constantBe among the first 80 to revolutionise industry standards and be part of the next unicorn.Gain access to top-tier advisors and investors in their fields.Work with high-quality, state-of-the-art equipment. We value diversity and promote it through empathy and respect. We assess based on professional skills, not on social background, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or skin colour.Looking forward to receiving your application!
