    About the Role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong AWS expertise to build and operate our company-wide event bus platform. You will extend our existing real-time event monitoring system into a scalable, self-service platform that enables teams across the organization to produce and consume events reliably.

    What You'll Do

    • Build & Operate Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure for a company-wide event streaming platform using Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK)

    • Automate Everything: Create CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and infrastructure provisioning workflows

    • Scale the Platform: Architect highly available, fault-tolerant systems using AWS services (ECS, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch)

    • Enable Teams: Build self-service tooling and documentation so other teams can onboard to the event platform independently

    • Ensure Security: Implement IAM policies, network security, secrets management, and compliance controls

    • Monitor & Optimize: Set up observability with Datadog, establish SLOs, and optimize infrastructure costs

    • Collaborate: Work closely with development teams to understand requirements and translate them into reliable infrastructure

    Your Profile

    • 3+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE

    • Strong hands-on AWS experience (compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring)

    • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code: AWS CDK (preferred), Terraform, or CloudFormation

    • Experience with Kafka or event streaming platforms

    • Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)

    • Comfortable with Docker, Python scripting, and Linux administration

    • Nice to have: Kubernetes/EKS, Datadog, FinOps experience, internal developer platforms, AWS certifications

    What Success Looks Like

    • Infrastructure is fully automated, reproducible, and version-controlled

    • Zero-downtime deployments with robust rollback capabilities

    • Comprehensive monitoring and alerting with clear runbooks

    • Self-service capabilities that reduce bottlenecks for other teams

    • Secure, cost-efficient infrastructure that scales with demand

    • Clear documentation enabling team autonomy

    What we offer

In addition to our great team, culture, and our shared goal of empowering people with data, there are many other things that make Statista a great place to work! Join us and benefit from:

    • Work from abroad up to 30 calendar days a year

    • Hybrid work and flex-time

    • International team and social events

    • Subsidized urban mobility and access to fitness and wellness options

    • Free access to Langdock and all its amazing functionalities

    • Career & training opportunities

    • Attractive locations and modern offices

    • Mental health support with OpenUp

Some of the benefits listed here apply only to the German entity and to Junior-level roles or above.
