About lemon.markets 🍋
We enable anyone to be an investor. Our mission is to grow investing opportunities for all European customers and businesses. By empowering FinTechs, banks, and wealth managers to offer investment products, we help create financial well-being for their customers.
lemon.markets is a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform: simple digital access to capital markets through a single API. Our API-first infrastructure abstracts brokerage complexity with a well-documented API, a self-service customer operations portal, and a clear regulatory framework, so partners can launch customer-centric, compliant products in weeks, not months.
As part of the dwpbank Group, we share a clear goal: we enable anyone to be an investor by making investing in capital markets more accessible. By combining dwpbank’s long-standing expertise and stability with lemon.markets’ technology-first mindset and speed, we are building a modern, modular securities services ecosystem. Together, we offer faster time-to-market, modular services, and a modern customer experience that helps financial service providers stay competitive and respond more flexibly in a changing market.
Your mission:
As our Operations Working Student, you will play an integral role in ensuring that our operations processes are compliant, efficient and run smoothly. Your responsibilities will range from supporting daily operations and administration to contributing to special projects. In doing so, you will have significant exposure to the Customer Lifecycle Operation Domain, which is central to lemon.markets. This domain handles everything from customer onboarding and customer lifecycle changes to customer service, impacting all areas of lemon.markets, including market-trade and post-trade activities.
This means, you’ll experience the best of both worlds: firsthand exposure to the operations of a brokerage firm, while enjoying the dynamic & flexibility of an fast-paced environment. You’ll collaborate closely with experts from Securities, Market Operations and Customer Operations. This experience will not only allow you to leverage and enhance your existing skill set, but also provide opportunities to learn, grow and take ownership of high-impact projects and tasks. From day one, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact and shape your career within Operations & Fintech.
In this role you will:
You will not only support the Customer Lifecycle Operations with a variety of day-to-day operational tasks and projects across Finance, Risk, Compliance, and AML, but you will also play an important role in refining and enhancing processes within various back office functions. By questioning the status quo and not shying away from breaking new ground, you’ll drive digitalization and efficiency improvements wherever possible.
Customer Lifecycle Ops specific tasks:
Partner Support: You'll be responsible for processing and responding to requests from our partners concerning their customers. These inquiries can cover a wide range of topics related to lemon.markets.
Customer Operations: From handling account requests and updating master data to addressing compliance issues, you'll engage in a diverse array of activities that keep our operations running smoothly every day.
KYC Operations: Before starting any contractual partnership, we need to verify the identity of the other party. This involves a thorough review before opening an account to ensure we know who we're doing business with.
Quality Assurance: Mistakes can happen, which is why we regularly review our work. Quality Assurance is a vital part of our daily routine to maintain high standards.
You will be successful in this role if:
You are currently enrolled at a German university in business administration, economics, operations, or a similar degree program, and will remain enrolled for at least one more year. Ideally, you are also based in Berlin.
You are fluent in written and spoken German and English, and feel comfortable communicating clearly and professionally with different internal and external stakeholders.
You bring a strong learning and growth mindset. You are curious, open to feedback, and eager to continuously develop your skills. You enjoy learning new tools and ways of working, adapt quickly, and are excited to deepen your knowledge of the brokerage, investing, and fintech space.
You are reliable and take responsibility for your work. You follow through on tasks, communicate proactively, and build trust through consistent execution. We are looking for someone who feels ownership over their topics and can be trusted to independently drive tasks and smaller projects forward.
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Rather than being discouraged by ambiguity, you see it as an opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow.
You have a hands-on mentality and like turning ideas into action. You are eager to get started, learn from doing, and improve along the way.
You are a strong team player. You enjoy collaborating with others, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive team environment.
