THE ROLE AND THE TEAM
The ZEOS Logistics department is responsible for all partner-facing multichannel Zalando Logistics Solutions. By unifying and collaborating these services under a single umbrella, we provide a more holistic approach to deliver the optimal fulfillment solution to meet our partners' needs and leverage common services to enable partner program growth.
As a Principal Product Designer at ZEOS, you will be responsible for customer-facing digital experiences for our ZEOS Logistics service offerings. Your joint mission is to empower fashion and lifestyle brands to expand their business and increase their profitability across multiple marketplaces and countries throughout Europe through ZEOS.
Your impact will extend beyond strategic visioning, you'll be instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment. By providing clear, constructive design feedback and skillfully navigating the roles of leader, supporter, and collaborator, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the design team's capabilities and resilience, ensuring our design solutions are as innovative and user-centric as our technology.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
You will help define the CX vision for the B2B space in ZEOS, bringing systems thinking to life at a 3-year horizon, building connections between teams and topics, and inspiring a shared direction for the merchants, their end customers, and the partners we serve.
You will jointly plan and conduct research together with researchers and product managers, shaping quantitative and qualitative data to support two key areas: assessing and validating new problem spaces and evaluating design solutions as a core part of the iterative validation process.
You will leverage merchant and customer insights to drive strategic projects, navigating predominantly undefined problem spaces, assessing whether problems are worth solving and identifying opportunities for delivering value via the user experience.You will define and activate design principles, and work to align the team and the solutions with them, ensuring the experiences delivered are of high quality and will deliver meaningful impact to our customers.
You will solve complex problems, harnessing technological innovations to improve experiences. You set standards through solution designs and customer journeys that other designers draw from, raising the bar for design quality and means of evaluation.
You will scope, define and oversee deliverables, ensure product development teams have everything they need, and raise the quality bar for what goes live.
You'll mentor fellow designers and spearhead key design ops initiatives that improve team health and ways of working. and build knowledge-sharing channels across your team and the community.
You'll lead by example, role-modelling user-centred design practices and producing high-quality work regardless of the size of the task.
As a thought leader and role model, you will contribute to the Zalando Product Design community through mentoring, teaching, writing, and raising the bar in design reviews and conversations.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
Experience: You have significant product design experience leading strategic, cross-product initiatives, with a track record of raising the bar on design quality and pushing creative boundaries. You have a proven track record designing and delivering robust, scalable B2B experiences across products, partnering with stakeholders and other designers to develop remarkable solutions.
Leadership: You create clarity amid uncertainty, guiding collaborators through complex and undefined challenges, and influencing direction with executive-level stakeholders across products and organisations.
Collaboration: You build connections across products, pillars and organisations, aligning diverse teams around a shared design direction in a complex B2B environment.
Complexity: You have worked on ambiguous strategic projects, are able to create clarity amid uncertainty, and can guide team members through such projects.
Insight: You have strong analytical skills, interpreting data and insights to inform creative decisions.
Craft: You have mastered the end-to-end iterative design process including how to develop and apply research, design thinking, user stories, journey mapping, wire-framing, prototyping, design systems, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centered design solutions across holistic customer journeys. Proficiency with current industry design and collaboration tools including Figma is a must. Experience working with prompting tools (e.g. Loveable, Claude , etc) as part of the design process is plus.
