    About Supabase

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.

    About the Role

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our Design Team and take full ownership of the look, feel, and experience of our marketing and documentation sites. In this role, design and code are fully intertwined — you won't be handing off to engineers, you'll be shipping it yourself. You'll move from identifying what needs improving to building and deploying it, with minimal direction and maximum ownership.

This role is ideal for someone who builds at work and in your personal time, is deeply curious about developer tools, and thrives in async environments where you're trusted to run with a problem and figure out the best solution.

    What You'll Be Responsible For

    • Own the end-to-end design and experience of supabase.com sites, like our marketing website, documentation site, and mini sites like Select conf, Launch Week — you will also be identifying problems with these sites, shipping fixes and continually improving them.

    • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Engineering, Product and the Docs team to ensure every page is clear and useful.

    • Make sure our sites have beautiful typography, layout, diagrams, code blocks etc.

    • Develop and ship live pages using modern front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, Vite). You’ll have an active voice in choosing libraries and frameworks.

    • Evolve our design system and reusable components to keep sites consistent and scalable.

    • Refine illustrations, diagrams, and messaging to improve technical clarity.

    • Proactively identify areas of the site that need improvement and drive them forward without waiting to be asked.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

    • Are genuinely both a designer and a front-end developer — you're as comfortable in code as you are in Figma, and you don't think of them as separate activities

    • Actively use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex etc) to experiment, prototype or ship websites/apps/features/products.

    • Have designed and built for developers or technical audiences — dev tools, crypto, tech startups, AI or similar; you understand who we're talking to

    • Are actively building things outside of work — side projects, personal experiments; you're curious and you ship.

    • Write production-quality front-end code using React, Next.js, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and component libraries like shadcn/Radix/Base UI

    • Take a broad brief and run with it — you identify what's worth working on, communicate your thinking, and get it done

    • Are comfortable working async and independently in a globally distributed team

    • Move fast without sacrificing craft — you balance quality with speed and know when good enough is good enough

    What We Offer

    • Fully Remote

We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

    • ESOP

Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.

    • Tech Allowance

Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.

    • Health Benefits

Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.

    • Annual Off-Sites

Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.

    • Flexible Work

We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.

    • Professional Development

Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

    About the Team

Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.

    • 280+ team members

    • 55+ countries

    • 20+ languages spoken

    • $500M raised

    • 500,000+ community members

We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

    Hiring Process

We keep things simple, async-friendly, and respectful of your time:

    1. Apply – Our team will review your application.

    2. Intro Call – A short video chat to get to know each other.

    3. Interviews – Up to four calls with:

      • Team Leads

      • Future teammates

      • Someone cross-functional from product, growth, or engineering (depending on the role)

      • Someone from our leadership/founding team

    4. Decision – We may follow up with a final question or go straight to offer.

All communication is remote and we aim to move fast.
