    Job Description

    We are on the lookout for a Junior Payroll Administrator (Fixed term, 12-month contract) to join our Payroll team.

    This is an entry-level professional role designed for an individual eager to build a foundational career in payroll operations.

    In this role, your primary focus will be on learning, execution, and accuracy. Working under the direct supervision and guidance of senior team members, you will handle routine data entry, support payroll data integrity, and resolve standard employee inquiries by following established procedures.

    • Perform routine data entry and administrative tasks to support the end-to-end payroll cycle, including maintaining accurate employee records such as banking details, tax setups, and timekeeping data.

    • Develop an understanding of the data flow between the internal HRIS and the downstream payroll processing engine.

    • Strictly follow internal payroll guidelines, production schedules, SOPs, and relevant company policies such as leave and overtime rules.

    • Handle sensitive and confidential employee compensation and personal data with the highest level of discretion.

    • Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding pay statements or basic tax forms in a clear, professional, and timely manner.

    • Use basic validation checks to verify pay calculation accuracy, identify discrepancies, and escalate complex issues to senior payroll team members while ensuring daily tasks are completed within deadlines.

    Qualifications

    • A foundational professional degree, relevant payroll certification, or equivalent practical work experience in an administrative or data-driven role.

    • A basic conceptual understanding of fundamental payroll theories, cycles, and standard compliance principles.

    • Familiarity with basic office software (e.g., MS Excel) and an aptitude for learning new software systems and HRIS/payroll tools.

    • High level of precision when entering and auditing data to prevent routine processing errors.

    • Clear, empathetic verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain basic procedural steps to employees.
